Join us at Code for Germany!

Code for Germany is a broad network of software developers, designers, politicians, public officials, and open data enthusiasts.
Participation is possible on many different levels: you may join an OK Lab meeting near you, found your own OK Lab, or support individual projects remotely. Find out how you can best get involved here.

You are:

Are you a software developer or designer eager to use your skills to improve your neighborhood, city, or environment? Do you know people that would be interested in participating? Then write us an email, so that we can support you.
You could also visit a lab in your neighborhood and pitch some new ideas or support existing projects. If there isn’t a lab near you, you could also participate remotely. The best approach would be to browse through current projects in different labs. Please get in touch with the individual labs running projects that may interest you. All projects are on Github and pull requests are highly welcome! There are also completed applications waiting to be implemented in other cities.

Not a techie? No problem! We are not solely focussed on developing and designing applications, we also want people to use them and to spread the word. This is how we contribute to the debate on open data. Therefore, it’s important to us to be inclusive and as interdisciplinary as possible. In short, we are also looking for people interested in storytelling and public relations, as well as community building. Has this peaked your interest? If so, contact a lab near you!

Contact and exchange between local government and politics and the OK Labs is very important to the success of the program. Therefore, we invite politicians and government employees in local agencies to work together with OK Labs. Together we can open up more data to enable to conditions for improved open government, transparency, and participation. Interested people from politics and administration can get in touch with a lab near them or contact us by email. We can gladly connect you.

In order to ensure that our program has a lasting impact, we need support and resources. We are a non-profit organization, so we have a limited budget and are dependent on donations. For Code for Germany, we are always looking for partners and supporters that would like to advance civic tech, open data, and transparency in Germany. We look forward to your message!

The more people that hear about Code for Germany, the better! We look forward to press inquiries! Please contact us via email or phone +49 30 57703666-0.
